My evil design

Ok.  One of my worst habits is to just sit down in front of the computer and crash.  Sit down (eat, of course) and then stagger to bed a few hours later.  Hey, it’s winter in Iowa.  I’m working insane hours.  I’ve got every excuse in the book.

So’s I came up with a simple plan.

step 1.)  Buy a ridiculously expensive wide screen plasma tv when I don’t even have cable.
step 2.)  Replace the computer monitor with said plasma tv.
step 3.)  Mount said aforementioned tv to the wall at eye level above the treadmill.

Viola!  I can’t even use the computer without at least standing on the treadmill.  Checked e-mail, my myspace and wrote a couple blogs.  End result .9 miles without even thinking about it.  Granted, it takes forever to do anything.  I’m sure I’ll get better with it as time goes on.  ;)

Starting over

Ok. I guess I wasn’t in as good of a place as I thought last time. =( I’m still learning how to cope with the empty house and I’m still working 12 hour days. It’s been 5 months of both now. In that five months, I’ve had 3 Saturdays off. That makes weekends with the kids that much shorter. Long story short, I’ve been constantly stressed and have put on 15 pounds since I last blogged. Oh well, c’est la vie. I can’t change the past.

I’m starting over. You can fall off the wagon all you want, you’re really not off the wagon until you quit climbing back on.

So, now for my new plan. I’ve laid out a nice even 1200 calorie basic plan. Broken into 6 semi-even “meals” throughout the day. That’s 1200 calories of exactly the same each day. I’m hoping that’ll help stop the energy surges and lulls I have during the day. The rest of the calories are gonna be filled in with more variety at breakfast and lunch. I’m including protein supplements and a multi-vitamin. Standard 8 cups of water minimum. That’s two of the water jugs I carry around during the day. I’m starting out at 1800 calories for the first week. That may not be realistic. I’m working 12 hour days and still need to squeeze in the treadmill at night. We’ll see how I feel after the first full week.

I have cut back my caffeine, but I’m not going to give it up, yet. The migraines would floor me right now and I’m not getting de-railed this time. A migraine in a factory is just not something I’m up for right now.
